Conducting criminal record checks on employees saves money in the loss management department and helps in the delivery of top productivity by ensuring that qualified applicants are hired.

Background checks also help verify past employment records. To be politically correct, it is against the law for a former boss or supervisor to speak negatively of a previous employee; legally, the previous employer can only confirm past or current employment.
